TETRA SODIUM EDTA

Blessed with excellent water affinity and solubility, these compounds lies in the class of chelating agents. They coordinately bond with various metal ions for their inactivation. These are profoundly used in cosmetic industries. They help to prevent the degradation of cosmetic compounds thereby inhibiting the growth of moulds and microorganisms.

They are also used to maintain clarity, preserve fragrance and overcome rancidity, thus enhances the performance in hard water. Being an excellent ingredient in cosmetic and personal care products, they are poorly absorbed by skin but accelarate the penetration of desirable ingredients by weakening the natural skin barrier, thus resulting a more meaningful effect.

The main ingredient are formaldehyde, sodium cyanide & ethylenediamine. These work on neutralisation mechanism (neutralising the growth of naturally occurring ions on the body) thereby ensuring a durable formulation.

Handling Measures and Precautions: To be used in prescribed formulation. Overdosing may cause skin troubles (Eczema) & eye irritation. Not readily biodegradable but the substance is ultimately removed from the environment.
