TOTM is a pthalate-based plasticizer used for high temperature applications, or in applications where low volatility and high viscosity are required. It is primarily used in electrical cable insulation and sheathing. Alongside it is used as a plasticizer in PVC parts such as hoses, cable, wire sheathing and PVC medical devices as well as in vehicle interior applications. It is also used as an additive in printing chemicals.
